Alexander Koch's presentation has been awarded as “Highly Commended” in the Peter Watson Award Ceremony.

Alexander Koch's presentation on “Computed tomography-based defect characterisation and prediction of fatigue properties of extrudates from recycled field-assisted sintered EN AW-6082 aluminum chips” has been awarded as “Highly Commended” in the Peter Watson Award Ceremony during the conference “Fatigue 2021" (March 29th-31st, 2021). Mr. Koch correlated the mechanical properties of specimens made from aluminum chips recycled by means of an field-assisted sintering process with the defect structure and, based on fracture mechanics approaches, adapted an analytical model to estimate the fatigue life depending on the defect structure.
