New DFG-funded major research equipment at TU Dortmund University

ALPHA Duo dual-tube computed tomography system from Procon X-Ray GmbH in the X-ray analysis laboratory in the building Mechanical Engineering 3 on Campus South.

The dual-tube computed tomography system  Procon ALPHA Duo incl. in-situ loading unit is being operated as part of the DFG project no. 459685720 for the non-destructive visualization of internal structures and the highly accurate analysis of damage mechanisms under load. The double-tube configuration enables high-density metallic materials to be irradiated and details in the nanometer range to be identified.
