International visit from Shimdazu

Exchange as part of the partnership with Shimadzu, which has been in place for over 15 years

The Chair of Materials Test Engineering (WPT) at TU Dortmund University has maintained a close and successful collaboration with Shimadzu for over 15 years. This international partnership is characterized by a continuous exchange between science and industry as well as numerous joint projects in the fields of device development and research.

In January 2026, as part of this cooperation, the Assistant Manager of the Analytical and Measuring Sales Unit in the International Sales Department, Shimadzu Corporation from Japan visited WPT, accompanied by colleagues from Shimadzu Europe and Shimadzu Germany. The visit provided an opportunity to present the chair, its central fields of research, and important milestones in the joint cooperation.

In addition, ongoing research projects with Shimadzu Europe were presented and current developments were discussed from an international perspective. The technical exchange particularly underscored the importance of long-term and international cooperation for sustainable scientific and technological progress.

The Chair of Materials Test Engineering would like to thank the guests for visiting and for their interest in the work of the WPT. It sees the partnership with Shimadzu as a valuable foundation for future joint research activities and the further development of innovative solutions in the field of materials testing technology.
