DVM Working Group „Zuverlässigkeit von Implantaten und Biostrukturen“ hosted at TU Dortmund
- WPT news

On 10 and 11 November 2026, the next meeting of the working group “ Zuverlässigkeit von Implantaten und Biostrukturen ” of the Deutscher Verband für Materialforschung und -prüfung (DVM) will take place at the Chair of Materials Test Engineering (WPT) at TU Dortmund University.
Researchers as well as professionals from industry are invited to submit presentation proposals until 30 April 2026.
Further information about the event and the submission of contributions is available on the DVM event page.
Biomaterials and engineering materials for biomedical applications have gained significant importance in recent years. They are used in many areas of medicine—from permanently implanted components to degradable materials and patient-specific solutions produced by additive manufacturing. With these developments, the requirements for the reliability, service life, and functionality of such structures continue to increase.
The meeting of the DVM working group provides a platform for professional exchange between academia and industry. The focus will be on current topics related to lifetime assessment, functional performance, and fatigue properties of implants and load-bearing biostructures. The aim is to discuss new evaluation approaches, exchange experiences, and present current research results.
