The WPT team in its current composition

The Chair of Materials Test Engineering (WPT) at TU Dortmund University presents itself with an updated group photo.

Under the leadership of Prof. Dr.-Ing. habil. Frank Walther, a total of 65 staff members from various areas are currently working together in research, teaching, and technical services. The team consists of one senior engineer, 30 scientific assistants (including one visiting researcher and two external doctoral candidates), eight technicians, three employees in secretary and controlling, three apprentices, and 20 student assistants.

The interdisciplinary structure of the chair - divided into process control, lightweight structures, biomaterials, as well as corrosion and hydrogen - forms the foundation for successfully addressing current challenges in materials testing, ranging from fundamental scientific investigations to application-oriented solutions in collaboration with industry partners.
