Expert Committee on hybrid materials on June 17, 2026, at the Chair of Materials Testing Engineering

On June 17, 2026, the meeting of the Expert Committee on “Hybrid Materials and Structures” of the German Society for Materials Science (DGM) will take place at the Chair of Materials Test Engineering at the TU Dortmund University.

The Expert Committee focuses in particular on the development and characterization of hybrid structural materials for lightweight construction applications. The focus is on material combinations of metals and composites. Key issues include interfacial engineering, suitable manufacturing and joining technologies, as well as the damage and failure behavior of hybrid materials and structures.

Through its interdisciplinary approach, the Committee brings together experts from materials science, mechanical engineering, chemistry, and physics with representatives from industry. The goal is to facilitate professional exchange on current research and development issues as well as industrial applications and challenges in the field of hybrid lightweight structures.
