Since October 1, 2026, Prof. Frank Walther has served as Vice-Dean of the Department of Mechanical Engineering at TU Dortmund University

Prof. Frank Walther has served as Vice-Dean of the Department of Mechanical Engineering at TU Dortmund University since October 1, 2026. In this role, he assumes responsibility for academic self-governance and plays an active part in the leadership and further development of the department.

As head of the Chair of Materials Test Engineering (WPT), Prof. Frank Walther conducts research on key topics in materials science and engineering. His research focuses on fatigue and fracture mechanics, microstructural analysis, and materials modeling.

We wish Prof. Frank Walther all the best and much success during his term.
