Corrosion fatigue characterization of laser structured Al/CFK hybrid composites
The aim of the research project is the development of an energy-efficient manufacturing process for firmly bonded Al/-CFK hybrid composites in a single step by combined forming. To increase corrosion resistance a laser pre-treatment of the surface of the metallic component is evaluated for its effectivness by means of instrumented corrosion fatigue assessments. Mechanism-based characterisation of effective damage initiation and evolution processes helps to build up a basic understanding of the deformation and failure behavior of hybrid laminates.
